Wow, this was really an effort!
We had several volunteers who worked on the Spanish translations, but they were mostly very busy, travelling in remote places and without internet.
Fernanda, our biggest contributor was travelling in the indian jungle, copying the texts on her smartphone when she had access to internet and editing it offline, when she had some free time.
If you are familiar with this travelling situation, maybe you know how much effort this means! She kept on contributing and uploading the translations for almost a year now!
Meanwhile i found some nice tools, like the google translate toolkit to automate the still missing rest of the translation.
Now we have a full Spanish version of ecobasa. Well it is Spanish, but just machine Spanish. We need your help to correct the mistakes and make it human and friendly :)

Note that the user generated content, like the profiles and blogposts also would need to be manually translated. We could use google translate to automate this as well, or make content available with separate fields for each language..or we all learn Esperanto..we will see.
This was an important step to start building up the global gift-economy network in Latin America – a huge potential of ressources that was excluded from our network because of the language barrier. They have one of the best ecovillage networks: CASA. And they are already quite good connected and open for exchange. Ahoi, new world, here we come!

Wow, esto fue realmente un esfuerzo!
Tuvimos varios voluntarios que trabajaron en las traducciones al español, pero ellos estuvieron muy ocupados, viajando en lugares remotos y sin internet.
Fernanda, nuestra mayor contribuyente, estuvo viajando en la selva de india, copiando el texto en su smartphone cuando tenía acceso al Internet y editando offline, cuando tenía algo de tiempo libre.
Si usted está familiarizado con esta situación de viaje ya sabes la cantidad de esfuerzo que esto significa! Ella siguió contribuyendo y subir las traducciones durante casi un año ahora!
Mientras tanto he encontrado algunas herramientas agradables, como el Google Translate Toolkit para automatizar el faltante resto de la traducción.
Ahora tenemos una versión de ecobasa completa en español. Bueno, es español, pero no es español correcto. Necesitamos su ayuda para corregir los errores y hacer que sea humana y agradable :)

Tenga en cuenta que el contenido que los usuarios generan, como los perfiles y blogs tambien tendrían que ser traducidos de forma manual. Podríamos usar Google Translate para automatizar esto también, o hacer contenido disponible con campos separados para cada idioma..o todos aprendemos esperanto.. A ver!
Este fue un paso importante para iniciar la construcción de la red economía de regalos global en América Latina - un enorme potencial de recursos, que fue excluido de nuestra red debido a la barrera del idioma.
