We launched our Month of Giving with a Giftmob
On Giving Tuesday (01.12.) we launched the #MonthOfGiving with a Giftmob at Alexanderplatz in Berlin.
What a nice day it was! It filled our hearts with nice moments and coincidences: We met a travelling nomad who was working on the christmas market. He doesn't use internet and didn't know about our initiative.
He was very happy to connect to us as he wants to open up a nomad base on gift-economy to host fellow travellers!
A woman was so happy about a book for her niece, that she wanted to give us a donation, even though we didn't ask for it.
We tried to give away the money to passengers, but the people didn't even want it smile emoticonI guess it was too strange for them to accept.. There is a lot to heal around giving and taking in our western culture.. It needs all of us to do these random acts of kindness to develop trust in other people!
You can easily organize a giftmob yourself, just go to the street and give something forward to start a wave of social change, opening of hearts and beneficial relationships!

The Flashmob of Fortune: Giving makes you happy - you and others!
ecobasa wants to make December the #MonthOfGiving together with you. Share the gift of giving by posting about your creative giving ideas and inspire others to join in the movement!

We will start our #MonthOfGiving on #GivingTuesday with gift-mobs and bring the gift of giving to the streets.
We will do it in Berlin, but you can easily do one on your own.
Giving unconditionally is one of the most important exercises for a better world, because it makes us free, to let go, to practice generosity and gratitude.
In addition, it has three major advantages: It's fun, it makes you happy, and it makes the recipient happy. On the #GivingTuesday that are more than enough reasons to make a Gift-Mob yourself.
You can either do it alone or with friends, maybe people passing by will even join you!
It is very simple to do, just spread the word and go out and do it!
If you want you can tell us about your initiative and we will spread the information in our network.
The idea is that you offer a service, product or any kind of gift unconditionally. If people want to give something back, encourage them to pay it forward.
They can give another gift to a random stranger, but also a donation to us, because this is a sustainable investment into the gift-economy network that enables more gifts to flow on a global scale!
You can also collect donations and forward them to us later.
On ecobasa.org, we give our work freely, because we believe in the idea so much. But your gifts keep us giving - and make us sustainable!

How to participate
Just bring a book that you read, a cake, some self-made upcycling jewelry, fruits from your garden, some nice clothes (Not things you would throw away anyway, things that other people would like to get as a gift)
It doesn't need to be materialistic: a smile, a hug or some nice words can change lifes!
Or how about a voucher for time or a service that you would like to offer. Amazing things can happen..
Please appear on time at 13.30 under the Worldclock of Alexanderplatz, after a short question round, we will start to talk to people - then we give!

ecobasa will den Dezember gemeinsam mit euch zum #MonthOfGiving machen. Teile das Geschenk des Gebens, indem Du über Deine kreativen Ideen schreibst und andere inspirierst, sich der Bewegung anzuschliessen!

Wir werden unseren #MonthOfGiving am #GivingTuesday mit Schenk-Mobs beginnen. Wir bringen das Geschenk des Gebens auf die Straße.
Wir werden einen in Berlin machen, aber das Format lässt sich ganz leicht selbst organisieren. Bedingungslos geben ist eine der wichtigsten Übungen für eine bessere Welt, denn es macht uns frei, um loszulassen wie auch Großzügigkeit und Dankbarkeit zu üben. Außerdem hat es noch drei wesentliche Vorteile: Es macht Spaß, es macht Dich glücklich und es macht den Beschenkten glücklich. Am #GivingTuesday also mehr als genug Gründe, um einen Schenk-Mob selbst zu machen. Entweder alleine oder Freunde begeistern mitzumachen, vielleicht machen sogar Passanten spontan mit!
Es ist wirklich sehr simpel: einfach darüber reden, rausgehen und machen!
Wenn Du magst, kannst Du uns von deiner Initiative erzählen, und wir werden die Informationen in unserem Netzwerk verbreiten.
Die Idee ist, eine Dienstleistung, Produkt oder jede Art von Geschenk bedingungslos anzubieten. Wenn die Leute etwas zurück geben wollen, ermutige sie, es weiterzugeben (pay-it-forward). Sie können ein anderes Geschenk einem Unbekannten geben, oder auch eine Spende an uns, denn dies ist eine nachhaltige Investition in das Schenk-Netzwerk, und ermöglicht somit, dass mehr Geschenke auf globaler Ebene fließen!
Ihr könnt auch Spenden sammeln und sie später an uns weitergeben.
Auf ecobasa.org geben wir unsere Arbeit frei, weil wir so sehr an die Idee glauben. Aber Eure Geschenke halten uns am Geben - und machen unsere Arbeit nachhaltig!

Wie kann ich mitmachen?
Bring einfach ein Buch, das Du schon gelesen hast, einen Kuchen, selbstgemachten Upcycling Schmuck, Obst aus dem Garten, einige schöne Kleider usw. (nicht Dinge, die Du sowieso wegwerfen würdest, sondern Dinge, die andere Leute gerne als Geschenk bekommen würden).
Es muss nichts materielles sein, ein Lächeln, eine Umarmung oder ein paar nette Worte können Leben verändern!
Oder wie wär's mit einem Gutschein für Zeit oder eine Dienstleistung, die Du anbieten möchtest. Erstaunliche Dinge können passieren...
